You've just welcomed your precious baby, and now the challenging part begins: recovery. From my personal experience, I've discovered these items to be crucial in making my recovery as smooth as possible.

  1. Ice Pack Pads

I can't emphasize enough how much I appreciated these during the initial weeks of recovery. These pads offer extensive coverage, are highly absorbent, and provide soothing cooling relief.

  1. Witch Hazel Pads

The aspect of healing that often goes unnoticed is the itching and burning down there! These pads offered immediate relief. They were incredibly helpful on days when you might have overexerted yourself while recovering, taking care of a newborn, and managing household tasks. They work perfectly when placed on top of your ice pack

  1. THE Peri Bottle

This peri bottle was incredibly useful every day, assisting with gentle cleaning after using the bathroom. You might receive one from the hospital, but the length and angle of this nozzle make it much more convenient.

  1. Pain, Itching and Burning Relief Spray

Relief, relief, relief. This spray, combined with witch hazel pads, is fantastic. It's incredibly easy to use—just spray it onto the ice pack or witch hazel pads, and it truly is the best pain relief combination I've found.

  1. Disposable Underwear

One aspect I didn't initially consider during recovery, but which turned out to be incredibly valuable, was having full coverage disposable underwear. These are sturdy enough to hold your ice pads securely, which is crucial. They alleviate concerns about leakage and provide a sense of support.

  1. Pumping/ Nursing Bra

I understand there are many great nursing bras available. However, what made this bra stand out for me was its cost-effectiveness, support for both pumping and nursing, and the inclusion of reusable nipple pads, which are more convenient than disposable ones.

  1. Easy To Navigate Clothing

For breastfeeding and pumping mothers, having a few essential clothing items that offer easy access is truly beneficial, whether it's for your fifth pumping session of the day or feeding a fussy baby. This lounge dress was part of my regular weekly wardrobe.

There isn't a single approach to postpartum recovery; these are simply essential items from my own recovery experience. Having even a few of these items will significantly ease your recovery process.
